If there is one thing that is almost always true about golf lessons, it is that you will generally come out of lessons much worse than when you started. This is usually because you will be given just enough information to be dangerous and not enough to actually make any long-term changes to your swing. So, if you are trying to learn a golf swing for the first time or you are ready to make some changes to your current one, the first thing you need to do is go back to basics with a simple golf swing.

Click here for more information about the Simple Golf Swing System.

What Is It?

The Simple Golf Swing is a program written by David Nevogt who is one of the pre-eminent teachers of golf. It is designed not necessarily to break down your swing but to have you try something that is completely different and probably a whole lot easier than what you are working with already.

Why Do You Need It?

One of the problems that occurs when you are trying to learn a new golf swing is that you are told so many different things at once that it becomes difficult to concentrate on the actual athletic move that you are trying to make. When you are trying to think about your head, your hips, your shoulders, your hands, and your follow through simultaneously, it is no surprise that people have difficulty learning something new.

What Does the Simple Golf Swing Have to Offer?

When you buy this program, you will get an introduction video, information on all aspects of your swing, an ebook on the golf swing itself, and an entire video presentation that will show you how to implement what you learn. By using these simple tools, you will learn all the tricks you need to re-invent your swing into something that is more reliable and a lot more positive for your game.

What Will You Learn?

You will learn all the basics that you would in other golf instruction course except that you will learn it in a way that makes remembering the moves you’ve learned much easier. By studying this every day and taking what you learn out onto the driving range, you will learn how and where to stand, how to address the ball, what speed and timing to use, and how to make sure that your tempo is just right for your swing.

Where Can You Get This Program?

You won’t find anything like the Simple Golf Swing at your local pro shop, nor will you find it in a bookstore. This is a special multi-media presentation that is only available online. When you buy it online, not only will you get the Simple Golf Swing system, but you will also get almost $250 worth of bonuses that you can keep whether you like the system or not.

Is This Worth It?

A lot of people are a little suspicious when it comes to buying learning products online, but when you order the Simple Golf Swing, you will get a full 60 day money back guarantee. You can try the program out for yourself, put it into action on the driving range and out on the course, and if you don’t see fast results in how you are playing, then simply return it for a full refund.

Most amateur golfers spend their entire lives trying to find the perfect golf swing or match up with their favorite pro. The truth is, if you haven’t been playing golf intensively from a young age, you may never swing like a pro. You also don’t have the millions of swings under your belt that they do. But, that doesn’t mean that you can’t build the perfect golf swing for your body, your age, your gender, and your abilities.

Where Can You Get Help?

Generally speaking, most golfers go to a golf school or their local golf pro as a way to get help with their swing. You will even hear of people paying thousands of dollars to go away to golf camp only to come back with their golf swing completely destroyed. It is highly unlikely that you will ever get the perfect golf swing from a luxury vacation!

What About Online Resources?

There are several reasons why more and more people are choosing to go online for assistance with their golf swing. In recent years, learning the perfect golf swing has become even more complicated, which is part of the reason why so many people are having trouble. But, when you go online and use a program like the Simple Golf Swing, you will soon see that it doesn’t have to be that difficult after all.

What Will You Learn?

These days, golf is usually taught in an overly complicated manner. The first thing that you will learn in this program that you can learn the same swing in five easy steps. This will give you a whole lot less to think about when you are approaching the tee, and will enable you to concentrate on what really matters.

The program is taught by David Nevogt, who is well known for being a high quality golf teacher. He knows how to teach golf, both to those who have been playing for years and to those who are new to the sport. Being a good teacher, he knows that each person learns in a different way – and that is why the lessons are delivered in both written and video format.

What Do You Get?

When you order the Simple Golf Swing online, you will get an electronic book that is immediately delivered as well as access to training videos that will take you through the lessons. The average golfer spends about three hours digesting this information before taking it out on the range. Also, when you order this online, you will get almost $250 worth of free bonuses, which makes this an even better deal.

Does This Really Work?

Every golfers wants the perfect golf swing, but most of us are just happy to settle with one that is reliable, long, and consistent. If you can hit the ball well without a lot of thought and without a lot of stress, then you are just bound to have a better time out on the course with your friends. This program has proven much more successful than other similar products and if you’re still not sure, you should know that it comes with a 60 day money back guarantee. That is plenty of time for you to try it out on your own and see if you can’t improve your game.

When you see professional golfers swing the club, it all looks so easy and natural. When it’s your turn to swing, it may not seem so simple. You don’t have to be Charles Barkley to have problems with your swing and in order to improve your game, you will need to develop a natural golf swing that is all your own.

Can You Learn a Professional Swing?

If you are young, in great shape, and willing to dedicate yourself day in and day out to golf, then you have a chance of developing something that looks like a professional swing, but for the rest of us, our body just won’t let us do it. Few of us are in good enough shape to have anything close to a natural golf swing that a professional might have and no matter much you try to emulate the pro’s, you will never get one.

What Can You Do?

If you are going to have a chance at playing better and having a more enjoyable time out on the course, then you need to find a natural golf swing that is right for you, not one that works for someone else. One of the best ways to do this is by using the Simple Golf Swing program. This is an easy to use a multi-media approach to altering your swing that will help you hit the ball straighter and longer every time you get on the course or the driving range.

This program will show you the five simple steps that you need to utilize for every swing – that’s all. You can analyze each and every swing and make the adjustments you need to, without bombarding your head with a million different technical thoughts.

Why Should You Use This Natural Golf Swing Program?

It goes without saying that one of the main reasons why so many people are choosing to use this online program is because it is affordable. In fact, it costs less than the price of one single private lesson with any golf pro. The other aspect of this program that you will appreciate is that it won’t waste your time. You can study the techniques, watch the videos, and then when you have the time, take your newfound knowledge out to the driving range.

Finally, if you have ever paid a fortune for lessons only to find out that you have lost any skills you previously had, you’re not alone. This lesson program is not designed to deconstruct your swing, but rather to change the way that you approach the game using five simple steps.

Where Can You Buy the Simple Golf Swing?

You definitely won’t find this program in your local pro shop, because it is programs like this that put professional golf schools out of business. This program is only sold online, which means that you will have instant access to all of the materials. You don’t have to wait for something to ship to you – it is all sent electronically.

Is This For You?

The level of time and commitment that is needed to master this program is minimal compared to other programs. You can develop a more natural golf swing in less than three hours and approach your next round with a lot more confidence. If you find that this program doesn’t give you what you need or you don’t see instant results, then you can return it for a full and immediate refund.

There comes a time in every golfer’s life when he or she just loses their swing. It doesn’t really matter how long you have been playing golf – and it can happen at any time. That is why it is important for you to always be looking for a way to improve your golf swing, no matter how low your handicap is.

How Can You Do It?

Traditionally, most people would take lessons from a golf pro in order to fix some aspect of their swing. Many use golf pros when they are starting out so that they learn all of the fundamentals. The only problem with this is that a “golf pro” may or may not be a very good teacher and they may be trying to teach you things that are either unnecessary or, for a non-professional, physically impossible.

What About Watching Television?

A lot of folks also think that you can improve your golf swing by watching golf on television, but rarely is that the case. You don’t have the same kind of body, strength, skills, or knowledge that a pro has and by emulating their swing, you might end up ruining your own. We each have our own individual swing that works for us and it is important that you just try to make it the best that it can be.

How Can You Do That?

There is one online program called the Simple Golf Swing System that will give you all the information you need on developing and maintaining a high quality swing, but do so at a fraction of the price of even one professional lesson. You will also learn to improve your golf swing more quickly since you will learn only the necessary information rather than details that may be well above your current playing level.

How Can This Save Time?

Most golf lessons take months or even years for someone to get through only to find that they get nothing out of it. When you use the Simple Golf Swing to improve your golf swing, you will learn the five simple things that you need to know to have a consistent and reliable swing every time you approach the ball. No matter how much pressure you have on you or how many people are watching, you will finally be able to approach the ball with a sense of confidence that you may not currently have.

How Much Time Does It Take?

Although learning to improve your golf swing usually takes a lifetime, this program really only takes about three hours. During that time you can read all of the materials and watch the videos. What you learn from these you can then take out on to the driving range, and then on to the golf course.

Can You Really Change Your Swing So Quickly?

Changing your swing and keeping it that way are two different things. That is why it is so important to stick with the program and make what you learn into permanent habits. This program is available online only and when you buy it, you will be given a full 60 days to try it out for yourself. If you find that it doesn’t help you construct a more confident and reliable swing, then you can return it for a refund – no questions asked.

Golf swing plane is determined by your posture and distance from the ball. The two plane swing has a steep plane whereas the one plane swing has a flatter plane. The differences are significant.

Find out in this article why your golf swing plane could make the difference between whether you have consistency or not. I have coached many golfers on the course and changing your swing plane can go a long way to hitting the ball straight and long. The other way almost guarantees hitting the ball all over the place.

Two Plane Golf Swing

If you were to take the arc of your swing and put a solid circular disc in its place that is what we call your golf swing plane. From your head to the club head like a pane of perspex.

In a two plane swing it is steeper this creates two planes. One for your golf backswing and one for the golf downswing and follow through. This tends to be created by standing closer to the ball and being more upright in your address to the ball. For the less experienced golfer this creates a number of issues.

Over extending hands, wrists and arms

Cocking the wrists

Up and down movement of hands and arms

Movement of the head

Losing control of the golf club

Losing the golf swing plane line

Standing too close to the ball is the bane of many a club golfers life. Leading to inconsistent swings and results. A steep golf swing plane generally leaves most golfers correcting their golf swing at the top of the back swing leading to inconsistent hitting of the ball. They lose rhythm, timing and square impact resulting in everything from slices, hooks, pull shots, push shots, hitting thin, fat and everything in between.

Unless you can get the right backswing plane and adjust perfectly for the downswing plane that will have the club head moving in a rotation from in back to in on the swing motion through the ball you can put hitting the ball consistently long and straight out of question. The more moving body parts you have out of coordination and rotational order the greater the risk of your swing leaking strength, power, rhythm or timing. Forget about accuracy or consistency.

One Plane Golf Swing

Moe Norman was one of the great golfers who believed in a simpler golf swing with amazing results. He was the genius behind the one plane golf swing despite other claims to the contrary.

As Moe says reduce the risk, reduce the moving parts. You could have a golf swing plane that stays on one plane with the least amount of moving parts as Moe does.

This to me is getting back to golf swing basics. Keeping the backswing low and slow. A backswing that has a shallow or flatter swing plane with more stability. The best way to set this up is by setting your distance from the ball by having a straight spine, bending at the hips, not the shoulders or back. Leaning forward till the club meets the ball.

Feet a little further apart than your shoulder width. To add to the stability, control and accuracy of a flatter swing plane simply try swinging from shoulder to shoulder. This is a great example of a one plane golf swing.

Remember, low and slow in the golf backswing, build your golf swing speed in the downswing and through the ball.

You have a chance of reducing head movement, up and down movement or lateral movement of your body, arms and hands. You eliminate the risk of over extending or losing control. If you swing in the correct order on a flatter plane you will be amazed at the consistency and accuracy you can achieve.

What ever golf swing plane you choose, go for one that suits you and gives you a repeatable golf swing.

Golf swing speed is something most golfers never seem to get right. Speed equals faster which means more power and distance. All the books talk about building club head speed. Which is true, but not true for the average golfer. Yes you may get more distance, but will sacrifice accuracy, control, and consistency of striking the ball squarely.

If you want to get your rhythm and timing right this is an important article to read. Every time I have coached golfers on the course no matter what level of skill or handicap it was clear there were certain things that created mistakes and inconsistency. This article gets into those things that can create an inconsistent golf swing.

Speed At The Wrong Time Kills Timing

Here’s why! Most average or beginner golfers suffer from let’s smash the ball. Strength means better. Yet the golf swing, golf clubs and golf balls require the magic ingredients of rhythm and timing. Hitting the ball on a swing path where the golf club head hits the ball squarely at impact, on line to your intended target.

You Lose Control Too

Add to this that most golfers lose control of their golf swing in the backswing leading to the top of their swing. Simply by often over extending and cocking or in reality breaking their wrists. They lose control of their hands, arms and the club. Everything ends up out of sync, out of order.

By the time the club head comes into the downswing it is going in all sorts of directions with the golfers body trying valiantly to make corrections to stay on line.

Frustrated Golfers Swing Faster

As a golfer gets more and more frustrated they tend to get annoyed with themselves. Then frustrated and some downright angry. Have you noticed how for this golfer they start swinging faster and faster. What do you notice? There striking of the ball gets more wayward and hazardous. Literally!

Bunkers, water, trees, other fairways, the rough become magnets.

Slow And Fast A Perfect Ratio

So, here is something counter intuitive to consider for golf swing speed. The slower your golf backswing the better. If we were to look at the total time of the complete golf swing. The ideal percent of time in the backswing, the perfect ratio is 62% with 38% in the golf downswing and follow through. This ratio in mathematics is referred to as the golden mean or golden ratio. In relation to a rotational swing like in golf it is called the golden spiral.

In essence if you want to build a consistent swing that delivers you need to get back to golf swing basics and build solid golf routines.

Slow Is Fast

By taking your club back slow you will have several advantages.

Firstly, you can determine how far back you go in your golf backswing. Try a three quarter swing to start with. Think of it as shoulder to shoulder. This is how the late Moe Norman played. You might be amazed to find with much less effort you will not lose that much distance. You will use less energy and your golf shot will be far more accurate.

The golf swing has everything to do with rhythm and timing rather than strength.

So, where do you build speed then. Obviously from the top of the swing into the downswing and follow through with maximum speed at impact. If you are swinging properly there is transference of energy from your hips and torso around your spine, out through of shoulders, arms and hands. Along the club shaft to the clubhead in a centrifugal force striking through the ball to your target.

Sweet As

When you hit a ball well you know it. It feels right, looks good, sounds sweet and the ball flight is straight and accurate.

Golf swing speed is one of those things that tricks up most golfers. If you want to get out of your head about it, simply breathe. Breathe in on the backswing and out through the downswing through the ball into your follow through. Your swing will slow down and you will find your natural rhythm.

Here is a great example of what I am talking about with Rory Mcllroy on the 18th hole to win the 111th US Open. Slow and steady wins the race. Jack Nicklaus described Rory as having wonderful rhythm and tempo with little effort.

A slow golf swing can work wonders for your golf game. Most golfers equate hitting the ball harder with distance. This means they swing as fast as they can. Often hitting the ball out of play. There is a time to build your club-head speed and it is not in the golf backswing.

In this article I am going to share something that will transform your golf swing and your game. It might not be what you expect but it goes to the heart of a simple golf swing.

Where Most Lose Control

Besides the obvious of a poor golf stance and setup or standing too close to the ball. Most golfers lose control on the tee at the top of their golf swing. They over hit and over play off the tee.

They lose control of their hands and arms over their head. Everything is out of sync resulting in inconsistent striking of the golf ball. They might hit the ball hard and it launches well. Unfortunately it then turns into a massive slice or hook into water, bunkers, trees or several fairways away.

The result is adding at least two or more strokes to the hole just to get back into play.

A Frustrated Golfer Always Swings Faster

Have you noticed that if you get upset, frustrated or angry on the golf course, with yourself, your game and the way you are playing that you start swinging much faster and trying to hit the ball harder. Your game just gets worse and worse. A slippery downhill slope.

Besides that they forget to breathe. Rhythm and timing go straight out the window.

So, here is something to consider to get yourself back on track. First you have to notice yourself and what you are doing. Then STOP.

Breathe

Take a deep breath and start breathing again. Practice a few slow golf swings in time with your in breath and out breath. Breathe in on the backswing as you swing back low and slow. Your breath transitions at the top of your backswing in your natural golf swing transition into the downswing with the start of your out breath.

This is where you breathe out all the way to the target and naturally build your club head speed through the golf downswing, through the ball and through the follow through.

Make sense? Practice it and build it into your golf swing practice routine for every shot. From your driver to your wedges and putter. Breathe.

Slow And Steady Wins The Race

A slow golf swing will deliver you control, accuracy down the middle of the fairway and a lower score. Hitting the ball for accuracy and distance means having a golf swing you can repeat and maintain. This clearly includes repeating every aspect of that swing.

As your golf swing becomes ingrained as your routine you can build on your distance. Three shots down the middle to the green is far more satisfying and preferable that lots of distance in any possible direction. Have you noticed how as men age and lose strength they play more strategically and score much better.

Even More Control

Also, to add to your slow golf swing to start with I would encourage you to swing from shoulder to shoulder. You will be amazed at how it improves your game. The key is to simplify your golf swing so you can easily do it again and again.

Putting is half the par of strokes allowed on the course. It is also a place where the playing field is leveled with the scratch golfers and pros. Here is one place where you can cut your putts by 6-12 strokes a round with a strong putting routine. Putting is about accuracy, precision and finesse.

In this article I share with you distinctions of the mind, your vision, and routines setting you up for putting with precision. Some of these distinctions are profound and will change your game. I have seen it happen with many golfers of all handicaps I have coached on the putting green.

Reading The Green

Take note of the type of grass and the grain and the direction the grain is running. Notice moisture which could slow the pace of the ball. Move about and get a view from the ball height to the hole from at least 2-4 angles. From the ball to the hole, from the hole to the ball and at 90% angles either side.

Notice the slope and run as if the ball is rolling to the hole. How will the ball behave. Of the green has been cut close it might be quick. Sometimes the slightest nudge can send the ball a long way like you are playing on glass.

Always go for the hole and on longer putts get the ball within 2 feet. If the hole was 2 feet in diameter you could not miss. Imagine how the ball will behave once struck.

Commit To Your Putting Line Precisely

When you have picked your line commit to it one hundred percent and play to it precisely.

Keep your feet square and planted firmly. Use your eyes to draw the line from the ball to the hole and ball with your eyes over the ball. Start with the putter face square with the ball on line with the line you intend playing.

Hold the putter in a light and comfortable grip and have your arms lined up with the hole. Move your shoulders, arms and hands together like a pendulum with a equal backswing and follow through. Keep your head still and your spine nice and straight. A quiet mind over the ball is best. You want to master your putting stroke.

Have a putter that feels right for you with a grip that feels right too. Putting well starts with feel, comfort and balance.

The Secret To Golf Putting

Many golfers get tentative the closer to the hole they get. In putting this can develop into the yips or micro movement of hesitation. The secret to playing with confidence is to breathe and to pick a precise line and play to it. In reality you can pick many lines to the hole and depending on speed and force you play will get it into the hole.

Putting can be quite intuitive. Just trust the feel in your body and hands, trust your eye. Stop thinking and putt. Once you have picked your line and gone through your setup, thinking time is over.

STOP!

Another really important tip. At any time it does not feel or look right. STOP! Back away and start again. Even some of the scratch golfers I have coached make this mistake of sticking with a putt or shot that does not feel right. Start your routine from the start again from the beginning.

Always reinforce your routine.

Keep a book on your stats for your putting too. The pros do. Track how putts per round and work at besting yourself.

Golf club fitting can save you from poorly fitted golf clubs could be costing you valuable strokes or worse still lead to injury. Like most things golf being no different, your ultimate success is all in the setup.

From golf clubs and golf equipment, to developing your golf mental game, building your golf body conditioning, to building your golf swing, short game and putting skill.

Why Make It Any Harder Than It Already Is?

How would it impact your golf game by playing with golf clubs that were too short or too long for you, with the wrong type of shafts or club face loft or a putter or wedges that did not suit you? What if the grips on your golf clubs were unsuitable for you, they were too thin, too fat or simply did not feel right?

Get Assessed By A Professional Golf Club Fitter

Having the right golf clubs custom fitted to you, your body, and your game is as important as building a sound golf swing, developing a strong golf mental game and getting your golf body right to play.

First you need a full assessment of you, your body, your swing, your game and your existing golf clubs. This will include looking at your height, weight, are you left or right handed, handicap, average score, physical limitations, type of play, issues, trouble clubs, your golf swing, short game and putting. Ideally out on the course as much as on the practice tee or greens.

Consider Every Golf Club And Every Part Of The Club Too

Your golf clubs need to be fitted for length and the type of shaft best suited to you. Shaft flex has 5 ratings and vary from steel shafts to graphite. Too much movement or flex in the shaft will impact your striking the ball square to the clubface at impact.

A professional club fitter with also look at 5 club types – driver, fairway woods and hybrids, irons, wedges and putters. Some club fitters will look at long irons and short irons separately too.

Loft, Lie Angle, Club Head And Golf Club Grip

Other things they will assess and ultimately recommend will be club loft, shaft properties, club impact face and grip type and sizes. The grip you choose should allow your fingers on your leading hand to touch the palm which will reduce tension in your hands and arms.

It Must Feel Right

You want to have golf clubs that feel right, have good weight and balance that allow you to strike the ball squarely. Then you are starting out giving yourself a sound footing to develop your golf swing.

Your Golf Body Plays An Important Role

At the same time get your body assessed too. As you develop muscle balance and flexibility, joint stability, then strength and power through a golf specific conditioning program get your golf swing, golf game and golf club refitted or adjusted.

Might as well do everything you can to set yourself up for success now or right at the start rather than play with poorly fitted clubs and work against yourself unnecessarily. It is hard enough having your mind or body working against you.

The easiest way to master your golf swing is to get back to golf swing basics. The golf swing is a complex movement of virtually every muscle and joint in the body in rotation around the spine. The simpler we can make it the better.

In this article I cover the basics you need to build into your golf swing routine. A lot can go wrong with the mechanics of the golf swing movement itself let alone what is going on in your mind and with your body, it’s structure, stability, flexibility, conditioning and movement. A simple golf swing is the key.

So, we need to master golf swing basics and the best way to do that is one step at a time. Building one part of the process on another till you have down pat.

Too Much To Think About

Unfortunately most golfers get overwhelmed with remembering what to do at what point let alone having body awareness to notice what they are doing or not doing.

So, many golfers are still thinking way too much when they are over the ball and trying to think their way through the swing and then move into beating themselves up when they perceive they have done something wrong.

How To Eat An Elephant

Break each part of the swing down into bigger chunks of information and master each one till it becomes second nature. Build a routine from pre shot, to shot and post shot. We can only generally deal with 7 parcels of information consciously plus or minus 2 at any time.

Let’s consider a few simple golf swing basics for you to focus on and pay attention to. You have gone through your preshot routine, picked where you want to hit to, where you want the ball to land, the line you want to play and distance, and the club you will use.

Step By Step Golf Swing Routine

You are into your golf swing routine, so you have addressed the ball. Most people overplay off the tee and get more tentative the closer they get to the hole. Let alone over think or think at the wrong time.

First and foremost breathe. Get out of your head and into your body. So breathe, relax and focus. Your abdominal muscles are where the swing action starts as you start your backswing.

Everything Rotates Around Your Spine

You want your head still through the swing and your spine straight from your hips to your head. You are rotating around your spine as a center of axis.

Have your feet firm and square to your line, your hands, arms and shoulders need to move as a triangle, a single unit with the clubhead having square impact with the ball. If you are having trouble with slicing, hooking, duffing or hitting thin or fat then shorten your golf backswing and swing from shoulder to shoulder. It worked for Moe Norman the longest and straightest hitter known in golf. Here is Moe to tell you himself:

Just like Moe remove the risk and have less moving parts. Start with a shorter backswing which will help your accuracy without losing too much power. Go for wins first I say. Play for accuracy over distance, then as you build strength and power you can add distance. It amazes me how older male players improve as they lose some strength because they stop trying to hit the ball out of the park.

Learn To Breathe For Rhythm

Breathe in on the backswing and out through the downswing and follow through. Play through the ball rather than trying to hit it. You’ll be amazed at how this aids your rhythm and timing. In fact with a flatter golf swing plane and breathing you will find your natural rhythm and golf swing speed too.

To summarize, take a nice smooth slower backswing and a nice rhythmic downswing and follow through. You want your eyes, head, body, swing movement and mind all playing to your target as one. In relation to the time frame for your full golf swing, your golf backswing will ideally take 62% of the time and your golf downswing and follow through 38%. This is also referred to as the golden ratio or golden spiral of perfect movement.

Your golf physiology, fitness, flexibility and conditioning has a huge impact on your golf game.

Golf physiology includes everything to do with your body and movement.

This includes:

Your vision, what you do with your eyes and your focus.

Your breathing, this impacts your movement and ability to relax.

Your emotions…how you feel affects your decisions, strategy, focus and execution.

Your intuition which is your compass to know what to do and not do.

Your body may be working against you

If it’s not bad enough that your thinking could be working against you. Your golf physiology, your body and movement may be doing it too.

For example if:

You have lost flexibility in your back, hips, or shoulders.

You lack strength.

You are not as fit as you would like to be.

Your hamstrings are be really tight.

You are carrying a bit more weight than you like.

Your body affects your swing.

Your body swings the club. If there is any limitation or restriction to your golf physiology this will affect your swing.
For instance as we age, particularly beyond 40 years of age. Playing 18 holes gets harder. As you tire, so does your backswing. This is the cause of shorter drives, mishits and possible injury.

This is compounded when you play inconsistently, thrashing your way around the course wasting shots.

Stretch for flexibility and rotation

Whatever your age you need to work on your flexibility and conditioning. For some they turn to tai chi to improve their golf physiology or yoga. They stretch regularly.

Particularly stretch those hamstrings.

If you lack flexibility and rotation it will affect how you swing through the ball and how the club face strikes the ball.

Your golf physiology could be creating your slice or hook.

No amount of swing coaching or hitting golf balls at the driving range will change that. Work on your golf fitness.

Golf fitness and flexibility will do wonders for your golf. You will relax more easily, and have good balance and combined with your breathing will help you tap into your natural rhythm.

Do yourself a favor and find a golf physiology specialist who truly understands Golf Fitness and can set up a golf fitness program of exercises designed specifically for you.

Focus on strengthening your core which is basically working your lower back, hamstrings and abdominals. It’s the key to your best, unrestricted golf swing.

Your eyes determine your focus

Your vision is not just what you see, it’s all about how you see it and what you physically do with your eyes throughout making a shot that can make all difference.

This includes:

Whether your focus on the target or the ball.

How you use eye dominance in targeting

Using your peripheral vision to focus on the target through the shot

Being precise in picking a line and playing to it.

Narrowing your vision to the target.

This is such an important topic I have gone into more depth in the section golf vision.

Another important thing to remember when it comes to your vision is that golf courses have been designed to trick you. They are designed to create an optical illusion.

Breathing is your secret weapon to great golf

Three deep breaths as you view your target will help you to relax. Breathing well can free up your rib cage and relax your body moving into a shot.

This is important because relaxation is the gateway to high performance. Your body is freer in it’s movement. There is less effort, you save energy.

In fact breathing is so powerful through the shot routine if done a certain way you will find your golf shots effortless because you will discover your natural rhythm and timing.

The other great benefit of deep breathing is you can use it to manage your emotions and let go of shots that don’t work.

Your emotions can make or break your game

Emotions are intimately entwined in your mind, thinking, body and golf physiology. They affect your motivation and decision-making.

Most people let their emotions get the better of them and ride them like a roller coaster.

The reality is your emotions are electrical signals and hormones that race through your system. If you accept they are signals, then start listening to them. Notice what they are telling you.

There is usually one of two things they are saying to you. Do more of something because it feels good or stop doing something because it doesn’t.

The more you fight against yourself, the harder it gets. You hit a shot that doesn’t work and get angry or upset with yourself. You carry that emotion with you. You get to the next shot still feeling angry. Now you are really going to take it out on the ball. You swing harder and faster.

What happens? You hit another bad shot. It compounds. You lose, in fact you wasted 3 strokes on that hole. Over 18 holes that’s a handicap of 54 strokes.

More shots requires more energy. Learn to save shots and energy.

Intuition

Intuition is your inbuilt guidance system. Some people refer to it as a gut feeling or a flashing thought.

It’s fast and generally very accurate.

How many times have you stood over the ball and it didn’t look or feel right and you still played the shot? What happened? You should have listened and backed away, right?

Golf is a game where you need every advantage you can get. Use your intuition. Listen to it.

The golf mind game is 80% of golf and it drives the rest of your game – your body, emotions, skill and how you score.

Learn the mind game and you will discover that golf is the best meditation in the world. Focus on your swing and hitting off the tee and you could well be doomed to a golfing life of frustration and torment.

Most golfers talk about golf being a mind game without really knowing or acknowledging the significance of it. Look at the evidence. How many golfers do you know who really struggle with the game? What about you? Mentally, emotionally, through inconsistency, a lack of focus and concentration.

There’s more to golf than hitting the ball

You might hear people say things like…surely it can’t be that hard! It’s just being able to hit that little white ball, right?

I’ll figure it out, or…

Maybe a few lessons on my swing will solve things…I’ll go to the golf driving range to try and work it out…better golf clubs must be the answer?

Then you go out with a head full of swing thoughts and a driver that invites you to really hit that ball, usually over hitting.

Rhythm, timing and accuracy go out the door.

It’s all in your thinking – You need to rethink your golf

If you want to change any part of your game or you want to improve you need to know what you want. To know what you want, sometimes you need to know what is possible and learn the underlying principles of behavioral excellence and high performance.

Start with what you do know. Try our Golf Mind Game Assessment to help you to hone in on what you want to work on or change.

Decide what you want specifically want that is different or better to what you have now in your golf game.
Set your golfing goals . This will give you something to aim for and be the start of developing a plan.

Take the time to think about your goals, write them down. Make a decision, commit to it and take action. Today.

Most golfers have handicapped themselves without ever knowing it.

I’m going to be bold enough to say that most people know much less about how to play well and score than they realize.
Have you noticed players where every game is a battle, where their skill is hampered, where every shot and every hole, their mind, their thinking, their focus, concentration, their speed, rhythm is working against them.

They can’t find a rhythm or a pattern for success with the game. The game conquers them every time they play and they can’t figure out why.

Golf is so much simpler than most people think.

Most people make golf much more complicated than it is. They can’t get out of their own way. They are fighting themselves and working against themselves on every shot and every hole.

Then the next time they play they go out and think, feel and act the exact same way again and wonder why it doesn’t change. At best, most people tinker with their swing, buy a new driver, or as an absolute last resort – get a half hour quick fix lesson with the golf pro.

Want it to change? Then do something different.

Why keep tinkering with 20% of your game when you need to learn and apply the other 80% as well. The golf mind game.

You can transform your golf game.

If you truly want to play your best or simply want to enjoy your golf. Do yourself a genuine favor. Take a total approach to your game, of mind, body, and skill, with the right equipment and learn how to have quality practice to improve. With your primary focus being on the golf mind game.

Learn about the golf mind game, read about it.

Master the golf mind game and you will transform your golf game.

Golf mental strategies

Here are some golf mind strategies that impact your game.

Golf Mind Focus

Decisions & Strategy

Confidence

Awareness

Relaxation

Your golf body is the key to a repeatable, reliable golf swing. Poor physical conditioning stops most golfers from reaching their potential.

In fact let’s go a step further and say your physical conditioning, your muscle and joint flexibility, your postural stability and range of rotation, your range of movement over a solid center of gravity is the key to a consistent swing. At the core of this is your spine.

Most Golfers Are Prone To Injury

The golf swing is complex and uses virtually every muscle and joint in the body rotating around the spine. Poor conditioning results in injury. Up to 60% of all amateur golfers have some for of injury from low back pain, to wrist and elbow injury, shoulders, feet, ankles, neck, rib cage, tight hamstrings, hips and more. 53% of men golfers have low back pain and 47% of ladies.

Most golfers have no idea that golf is not an athletic sport and that it is as robust and demanding as football, soccer, baseball or any other high impact sport. Golf is all about rotation and high impact, explosive actions. Consider that the average golfer makes something like 40 or more full swing explosive shots in a round. Shots where the club head speed exceeds 100 miles per hour.

Your Golf Body Fitness And Flexibility Is Key

Most golfers rely on lessons and new golf clubs to solve their issues when they need to get their body on a sound footing first and improve their physical conditioning. Yes your fitness but forget about going to the gym or to a personal trainer who where the exercises are based on body building principles. This will not help you.

The Gym Could Kill Your Golf Game

You need exercises that are golf specific where they mimic the rhythm, timing and movement pattern and structure of the golf swing. Before you even consider getting muscle balance and flexibility first and then develop postural stability. You need to work on postural alignment and joint stability with a solid footing over your center of gravity rotating around your spine.

The best golf swing trainings all focus on the spine and rotating around a straight spine and spine health. A straight spine at address and through your backswing, downswing and follow through can only happen if your body is up to it.

Your Body Could Be The Source Of Your Inconsistent Golf Swing

Problems such as your head moving, body swaying through your swing, rounded shoulders, slices, hooks, mishits, thins, hitting fat can all be indicative of poor conditioning. No amount of swing technique correction will fix it. Worse still you could be adjusting your swing and making yourself more prone to injury and an inconsistent swing.

And you will certainly not get the power, distance or accuracy you desire if your body does not have the flexibility, stability and strength required. Each person is different so they do need a full personal assessment and an ongoing program as the exercises for the flexibility, stability, strength and power are different and need ongoing rotation so you can maintain all four areas.

Get Your Body Stable, Fit And Flexible First

You will find as your physical conditioning improves so will your golf swing and results on the golf course. Otherwise with poor conditioning you will find your game and your handicap will plateau.

Golf Body Routines

Ideally, get to the golf course an hour early and warm up with golf specific stretches. Any tight muscles or joints will compromise your golf swing. Especially on cold days you will be more prone to injury. At the end of the round warm down as well.

Before you play and during play keep yourself well hydrated with water as this will aid with fatigue, help you with mental clarity and help you to relax more readily.

Golf mental, your mind game can make the difference between playing superbly to playing inconsistently, blowing a round, or sheer frustration. Getting your mind right is vital to your golf game.

So, why does it elude most of us so often? Even the best of the best golfers. Lapses in focus, concentration, a lack of sustained, deliberate discipline, poor decisions, lapses in judgement. We need it for what, 70, 80, 90 or more shots? For 3-4 hours on the course.

Our Golf Mind Often Works Against Us

Usually we can’t help play against ourselves mentally. That’s without including having our bodies working against us because we didn’t warm up, stretch, we are not properly hydrated or we are simply have poor physical conditioning. As your body fatigues so does your mind.

Or are you one of those people who is thinking too much. Constantly thinking, with persistent internal dialogue, focusing on what you don’t want like don’t hit it in the water, or in the bunker, or saying to yourself this looks really hard or worse still, knocking yourself every time you slice, hook, duff, miss or you don’t play perfect. Noticing everything you do wrong that does not meet your expectation.

Thinking About What’s Wrong…Surely Not

Negative thoughts can be as destructive as thinking at the wrong times. For instance, once you are over the golf ball in your full address of the ball this is not the time to be thinking. The time for decisions was in your pre shot routine as you are standing behind the ball picking your line, the type of shot you intend making and the club that will give you the distance and loft you require.

Know When To Think

Do yourself a favor. Take the thinking out of your game as much as possible. There are several things you can do here. Firstly, you can get to know your game and the distances you play different clubs. Secondly, walk the course backwards so you can get a real feel for the course, your game plan, distances and shots to play each hole. Notice the hazards and the places you want to play to so you don’t get into trouble. Hazards are there to draw you in and challenge you.

Every Golf Course Is An Optical Illusion

Have you noticed how the course can play tricks on your perceptions of size and distance. That is why it pays to walk the course backwards.

Know When To Stop And Step Back

If you get caught up in the affects of a bad shot. Step back, notice yourself, pay attention to what you are thinking and saying to yourself in your mind and out loud. And…shift right out of it. Let go. Even better develop strategies to let go and focus again. Your mind, body and emotional state are intertwined. Shift one and you shift them all. Shift your body, change your posture, breathe. Breathing is the great mood changer.

Another way to get your thinking out of the way early is to build strong, repeatable, disciplined routines. Pre game, pre shot, shot, post shot and post game routines to fine tune your thinking, your mind, your body and your swing. Give your mind and body solid tracks to move on.

Know when to switch off your mind, to turn the volume down at least. Over the ball is a time to execute, a silent mind will serve you best. Practice it so it becomes second nature.

Confidence Comes With Strong Routines

Building confidence in your swing and your golf game comes down to building things you can rely on like routines, strategies to stay focused and disciplined and rewarding yourself every time you do something right. The more you know your game and play to your game. The more confidence you will build.

Notice, Pay Attention

Your golf mental game is much about paying attention to yourself and how you think as it is to strategy and carefully thought through risk management on the course. Have rules and routines like not taking unnecessary risks. If you hit out of play. Don’t try to hit another high risk shot. Just get back into play.

Your golf stance is your foundation for stability and balance. It is also the foundation of your set up for your golf swing routine. A solid, stable base allows you to maintain a strong center of gravity over the golf ball.

Your golf swing lives and dies on your setup. In this article I get right to the core of what really works to help you setup your golf stance. I have seen it time and again whether I am coaching a high handicapper or a scratch golfer. So, let’s get into some practical things you can use.

It Starts With Your Approach

I would hope that by the time you have moved in to address the ball you have gone through your preshot routine of making your decisions around the weather, wind, moisture, dryness, the ball lie, what club you will use, where you want the ball to land and the line you want to play.

Notice Your Golf Posture

Standing over the ball is the start of creating your stance and is where posture becomes so crucial. Start by standing tall as you face the ball. Align your club face to the ball and then place you feet. I tend to start with placing my feet, front foot first to align myself with the club face and the line I want to play. You want your feet to line up with the line you want to play through for the ball flight you are working to produce.

All Square To The Target

Keep both of your feet square to the target. Bend from the hips with your knees slightly bent but still activated. So it is like you are standing straight and bending your hips to ground the club. Rather than bending your upper back and shoulders.

Think of it this way. You want to have a straight spine to maximize your rotation.

Your Feet Give You Stability And Power

Make sure your feet are a comfortable width apart. Generally the bigger the club , the wider the stance and the shorter the club the narrower the stance. The basic width is shoulder width apart. If you follow the single plane golf swing of a Moe Norman you might have a wider stance.

Until you can build a strongly felt awareness, a consciousness around the feeling of your body being in the right position keep your stance, your feet placement and ball position fairly simple to replicate.

Depending on the club you are playing, make your ball placement in the center for mid irons, up to 2 inches towards you back foot so you are hitting down on the ball for shorter clubs and slightly forward for longer clubs like the woods and driver.

The most important thing is that your stance allows you to feel grounded, centered, solid and balanced. You want to feel comfortable.

One Step At A Time…Building Your Golf Stance From The Ground Up

You would think this should all be simple. In reality the golf swing is a complex set of processes that uses every muscle group and joint in the body. So, having a stable foundation, a solid, balanced stance is about putting everything on a good footing so to speak to begin with.

If it does not feel right. Start again, like in any routine, build in discipline so you can build consistency. Your approach to the ball and the setup of your golf stance is the foundation of your golf swing.

Golf mind focus is a combination of where you focus your mind, eyes, body, breathing and intention. Rather than working against yourself have all of you moving in one direction, working together for one outcome.

Your eyes may be playing tricks on your golf mind focus

Your eyes can play tricks on you and your golf mind on any golf course. And therefore play tricks on your mind and what to focus on.

In fact your beliefs about your ability, your fears and the optical illusions deliberately designed into any golf course will distort what you think you see and more importantly what you focus on.

Play to your target not to the ball

One of the greatest illusions of golf is that most golfers think it is all about hitting the ball. They put all their effort into learning to improve their swing and to hit the ball.

The reality is this.

It’s not about hitting or how hard you hit the ball it’s about where you are hitting the ball to that is the most important thing in golf. Golf mind focus is about the target.

Where do you want the golf ball to go? How will the ball behave when it lands? Will it stop where you want it to go?

Use your golf mind, focus on the target.

Golf mind focus covers what you are doing with your eyes, where are you looking, what you are focused on, your decision of what to focus on and what you are thinking about.

Be clear about what you want

What you think about is critical. Have you noticed when you think about what you don’t want, when you focus on it, you get it?

It could be simple as you saying to yourself in your mind “don’t hit it in the water, again!” or “don’t slice this one.”

This is a funny quirk of our golf mind. It doesn’t hear don’t.

It’s like parents yelling to their kids “don’t run”. What do they do? Better to yell what you want, in the positive.

“Walk”. So focus on where you want the ball to go.

Be decisive

A key to your golf mind. Focus, make a decision. He or she who hesitates, loses.

When you hesitate you are being indecisive and more than likely scattering your thinking. Usually onto thoughts that are not what you want.

An interesting thing happens when you are decisive. Your mind and body becomes quiet. This is golf mind focus.

What a great way to play any golf shot.

The most powerful strategy for any golfer

The way you breathe, can determine whether you are relaxed, have rhythm, flexibility, and movement. As you execute the shot, breathing moves you out of your head into your body to simply execute your decision, here and now where it counts, in the present.

Now you are in the present playing your shot with full commitment to the outcome. Breathing supports your focus. As you move through your shot your body moving to where you want to go.

Golf mind focus is a mind, body and emotions focus.

Listen to yourself

Notice if your internal chatter. Notice whether it is supportive or not. It’s a signal to either go for it, to stop, or do something else.

Bottom-line, listen to yourself.

If it’s not what you want, it doesn’t feel right, it’s not supporting your outcome, notice it in the moment, stop, have the discipline and patience to back away and start again.

Your mind, body and emotions are giving you clues of what’s working, what’s not, of what to do and not to do all the time.

Focus on the positive, not the negative

An example is if the ball is on a line or lie that doesn’t look good, right, doesn’t feel good. Focus, on what you want, not what you don’t want or on your fear? Make a choice.

Just like you can focus on what is not working which is what most people do and punish themselves. Usually a golfer who does this throws the round away.

Instead, reward yourself for your wins. Build from the strong foundation of the 90-95% of things you do right.

What we believe is what you’ll focus on, and you will justify it, you’ll find evidence to support it. Therefore it will be true, your reality today. I stress YOUR reality. If it’s not what you want, then shift your focus to what you want. Believe that which supports what you want.

Use a positive golf mind focus.

The Golf Designers are playing with your mind too

Now’s add another piece to the equation of focus, or what you see on a golf course. Or more importantly, what you think you see and how it affects your thinking, emotions and decisions.

Remember a golf course is designed to create optical illusions. Designers put your focus on the hazards, on the boundaries. Check it out. Walk the course you are playing backwards, walk ahead a bit, look over the rise. Realize there is always more room to play with than your first impression.

Focus on what you want. Go for it!

As you execute a shot keep your eyes on the ball. Notice the target in your peripheral vision. As you hit through the ball to your target also see the ball to the target. Use your breathing to literally exhale through the ball to your target.

Set yourself up for success with all of you moving in one direction, to one decision, to your desired target. Use your golf mind focus.

Golf courses have been designed all over the world is an optical illusion. They have been designed to trick your eyes and your mind. Here is a couple of examples.

Have you ever noticed that when you par-3 hole on the golf course that it always seemed like it is very narrow and you are forced to play very accurately. There is little room to move and plenty of risk. A bit more about this at the moment.

Or have you ever noticed that when you are on a par-5 hole on the golf course they seem to have all the room in the world. So you tend to aim in a general direction. There is a lot more room for error.

Then there is distance… how far away is the green really? Picking enough club is always a challenge. Judging the distance and knowing you’re going well enough is really important.

Golf courses deceive your eyes!

Whether it’s a sunny day, early in the morning when it is a bit foggy, in the rain, the heat of a summer’s day, or nearly dusk in winter any golf course will test your vision and therefore your judgement.

A good remedy for this is to walk the course backwards. by walking the course backwards from the 18th green to the first tee your start to see from a different perspective the distances that you are playing to.

Most importantly I would suggest you use this as an opportunity to also map out your game plan. Look at distances and map out according to how you play your game.

The best golf coaching programs need to take place where it counts. On the golf course.

If you are really serious about improving your golf and lowering your score then you need a coaching program.

Your program needs to cover:

The golf mind game

Golf physiology

Golfing skill including swing fundamentals

Getting the right golf equipment

A quality golf practice program

Course management and strategy

Knowing your game

Knowing how to score

Chuck Hogan puts it nicely when he says – “it isn’t golf that is such a difficult game, it’s how it is taught that makes it quite impossible”.

Golf coaching should take place where it counts – on-course, with a focus on playing to a target and lowering your score.

This involves a lot more than a narrow focus on the swing and hitting the ball.

Here’s some of the things quality program can do for you:

Create awareness of what working and what’s not

Gives you valuable feedback

Slows things down – we learn better in slow motion

Gives you direction

Lays a foundation for a strong pre shot routine

Trains your mind and body

Coaching is team effort

Our focus is on helping you achieve personal golfing excellence.

Work with golf professionals who know how to coach and are professional golf coaches.

Also work with physiology specialists too, on and off course. Most golfers will need a golf fitness and stretching program as well as having your body, physiology and movement assessed. This will often involve a remedial program with most golfers.

We encourage you to get your golf clubs, golf ball selection and equipment custom fitted to your skill level and physiology.

Find golf coaches who take a team approach

If your golf coach:

Is focused on teaching you swing technique and to hit the ball.

Only works with you on a practice area or driving range.

Doesn’t custom fit your golf clubs.

Hasn’t custom fitted the golf ball and tees you use.

Doesn’t get you to keep your golf stats.

Doesn’t work with you on-course.

Doesn’t actively work with you on course management and strategy.

Doesn’t work with a golf mind coach or physiology specialists.

Look elsewhere! You deserve better!

To achieve your golfing goals you need to know where your game is up to now, what’s working, what’s not and most of all, know what you want.

Setting your goals is the start of your golf improvement program. They give you direction and most importantly, if they are right for you they will motivate and inspire you.

Your golf improvement journey starts with awareness

That requires an awareness of your golf game, not just an impression. Which part of your game do you want to work on? Which area is going to give you your greatest improvement?

An excellent way to do this is to have a golf improvement journal where you track your golf statistics.

Your beliefs will determine your success or failure

Your beliefs are at the heart of everything you do. They will help you or stop you. It’s ultimately a matter of choice.

Some questions to ask your self about your golfing goals:

Is your goal desirable and worth it?

Is it possible to achieve it?

What do you have to do in order that your goal is appropriate and right for you?

Do you have or can you get the capabilities to achieve it?

Do you deserve it and will you take full responsibility to make it happen?

A success formula for achieving your golfing goals

Know what you want, specifically. Break it down into smaller goals if that helps.

Take action, no matter how big or small the steps as long as they are consistent.

Know what you are getting at any point in time. What’s working and what is not? Where are you in relation to your golfing goal?

Tinker, if your strategy isn’t working, keep going till you find one that does.

Four more keys to help you get what you want

Know what you want, have clarity and direction.

Be congruent, believe it and do it every day.

Know how, if you don’t know how, find out, get help.

It takes time, everything takes time. The process to follow is Be, Do, Have.

Golf is a game of attitude

Enduring champions have an abundance of great attitude. Talent alone won’t do it, in fact someone with talent and poor attitude will not get far in life or golf.

Someone with average talent, great attitude, discipline and belief can become a great golfer.

Obviously the ideal would be to have great talent and great attitude.

Make your golfing goals SMART

Make your golfing goals Specific.

Your results need to be Measurable so you know how you are going.

Make your goals Achievable.

Be Realistic with your goals and your time frames.

Set deadlines, work to a plan and make your goals Time related.

Above all make your golfing goals inspirational for you and others, then live it.

Think through your golfing goals and make a decision

What do you want?

What do you want from your golf?

What do you want that’s different from what you have right now?

Are you getting it?

If not, what’s stopping you?

What has to change?

Everything has a price

Work out what price it will take to get your goal. What are you prepared to pay or not pay? If you really want your golfing goals and you are prepared to pay the price, then pay it.

Golf vision includes everything from eye dominance, peripheral vision, where you focus your eyes and what you do with your eyes through a shot.

Golf is an optical illusion that can play havoc with your targeting, judgment of distance and score.

Golf designers are playing tricks with you.

Golf courses have been designed to draw your attention, your visual focus and thoughts to the traps and hazards.

Have you ever noticed how you can be so aware of that bunker or the water that you go in it?

Also the course is designed to play with your perception of depth and distances. The pin looks really close to the edge of that bunker. Yet when you get there you had plenty of green to work with.

Knowing how much room you have to work with can improve your confidence and save you valuable shots.

Get to know your course. Walk any course you are going to play, backwards. You’ll be amazed what you learn. Create a game plan as you go.

Golf vision is what we see with our eyes and what we see in our minds

Zero in on your target with your eyes and mind. We think using the 5 senses. We see, hear, feel ,taste and smell things in our mind.

Some people can visualize easily and others struggle with it. The point is to focus on your target – where you want to go, with your mind however you do that and your eyes.

How you see is important

Ben Hogan was known as ‘The Hawk’ because he used to gaze with incredible focus and concentration on his target.

Then he would simply notice the ball as he played his shot to where his focus was – to the target.

Really narrow your focus on your target so it is the only thing you see. Make a decision and commit to it.

When you are over the ball see if you can see your target through the corner of your eye whilst looking at the ball. Keep your attention on the target. That’s where you are going.

This is your peripheral vision. When you use it you will simply notice the ball in what is called soft vision.

Make your golf vision work for you – know where you are going

Stand behind the ball when targeting rather than picking your target and line when you are over the ball. You will be able to pick a more accurate line. Align the club face to that line and target.

Pick a line, zero in on a small target. Play with precision to that line and target.

Look at the impact point and follow the ball

I often here golf professionals telling people not to move their heads. The reality is you head will naturally move a bit through the rotation of the swing. A better way to look at it is to keep your eye on the ball.

Throughout your shot notice the impact point of where you are going to hit through, play through the ball and literally see the ball to your target.

Your own mind can play tricks with your golf vision

Ever played a par 3 and your perception is you don’t have much room to move. It is really narrow with little room for error. And you make errors easily.

Yet on a par 5 you have lots of room to move and you can your shot precisely to a line and land the ball on a dime.

Your mind can distort your thinking and what you see. To overcome this, focus on what you want, narrow your focus and play to it.

Be aware of your golf vision, use your eyes and save shots.
